St. Martin Private Jet Charter - Empty Leg Flights

Chartering a Jet Flight from Toronto to the St. Martin

St Martin is a small island in the northeast Caribbean just under two hundred miles east of Puerto Rico. It has been described as the friendliest of the Caribbean Islands and an ideal destination for a healthy holiday and an escape from city life. When planning a jet charter from Toronto to St Martin, keep some of these tips in mind.

The Journey and Airport

Commercial flights take about 4 hours and 30 minutes to get from Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to St Martin. Toronto, in a different time zone, is only 1 hour behind the Island. You shouldn’t require a visa for a short stay at St. Martin but it’s always best to confirm that before departure.

The island is best served by the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). It is an extremely busy airport located on the Dutch side of the Island, bear that in mind when booking your accommodation. Rental cars are available at the airport from the usual array of rental car companies.

Tips for Your Stay at St Martin

Saint Martin is the smallest inhabited island divided between two nations, the French and the Dutch. Whilst just about everybody across the island speaks English and there is no real border, you may need to consider on which side of the island you would prefer to stay as they exude differing characters. The Dutch side is known for its party atmosphere and vibrant nightlife, whilst the French side is the more secluded and on the quiet side.

The island has a tropical monsoon climate with a dry season lasting from January to April and a rainy season that runs from August through December. There is the off chance of a hurricane in the Caribbean, and the season begins in June and runs through the summer into the fall. Otherwise the climate is generally pleasant all year around.

Driving on St Martin can be quite chaotic. Narrow lanes and an abundance of scooters and motorcycles can challenge the most competent of drivers. Fortunately, you can also avail yourself of the Island’s buses and taxi cabs, usually in the form of vans.

Exquisite Beaches are arguably the main attraction on the island of St Martin and the Island boasts 37 of them in total. Boat charters are also very popular on the Island, but if you would prefer to stay out of the glorious sunshine then there are ample casinos and great opportunities for shopping.

St Martin certainly offers the best of the Caribbean and an epic opportunity to get away from city life and slow down to the rhythm of a tropical island. If you are planning to make the trip, then a jet charter from YYZ to SXM will make a grand entrance to your vacation.
